Gorilla Tracking in Parc National des Volcans
Cross off one of life's ultimate bucket list experiences as you head into the misty Virunga Mountains in search of the majestic Mountain Gorilla. Trekking can take a full day through the volcanic forests, but the hour with the gorillas is worth every step
Stepping in the foot steps of world famous gorilla conservationist Dian Fossey is the dream for any wildlife enthusiast. Wake up early on the day of your trek and you will be treated to a hearty breakfast before being transferred to the briefing area. Here you will meet your guide, the rest of your trekking party and hear more about the gorilla family that has been selected for your visit.
Your climb will begin from a small village where you will be able to see how the rural people of Rwanda live before setting off through the rolling patchwork of agricultural land on a gradual incline. The climb will become steeper before reaching the entrance of the famous Parc Nationale Des Volcans home to the mountain gorillas of Rwanda.
Once in the park your trek time and route will depend purely on where the gorillas are but once you have found them amongst the lush green foliage you will have one full hour in their company. Watch the family feed, play and communicate with each other whilst taking some incredible photographs, before heading back down and out of the park where your transfer will be waiting.
