Game Drives in the Timbavati
Spanning 53,000 hectares and with a small number of lodges, the Timbavati Game Reserve is one of the most exclusive 'Big Five' safari options. Originally known as the home to the rare white lion, the reserve is now one of the best for overall wildlife.
The rare white lion was discovered in the Timbavati Game Reserve in the mid-1900's, putting the reserve on the map. These beautiful animals are now few and far between, if any at all. However, this does not take away the fact that the Timbavati has an excellent overall gaming experience, with game able to wander freely to and from the Kruger National Park. The 'Big Five' are frequently spotted, as well as hyena, giraffe, and many of the antelope species like impala and kudu.
