Game drives in Ruaha National Park
Game drives in Ruaha National Park show off this area's remote, wild, and diverse nature. Head out early in the morning and in the late afternoon when wildlife is most active, or you can even choose to take a full day's drive.
Ruaha National Park is home to a whole host of wildlife, and famous mostly for huge elephant populations, massive herds of buffalo, and a high concentration of lions. You can also spot leopards, cheetah, wild dog, greater and lesser kudu, impala, sable, roan, hippo, crocodiles, zebras, giraffes, and much more.
Game drives will traverse a range of environments, including the Great Ruaha River; seasonal riverbeds like Mwagusi, Jongomero, Mdonya, Mzombe, and Ihuguru, as well as miombo and acacia woodland, baobab forests, open savannah, and granite kopjes.
Ruaha is also a stunning destination for birding, whether you are a keen birder or just a beginner. There are more than 550 species of bird in Ruaha, with the Ruaha red-billed hornbill being of particular interest since it is endemic to the park.
