Explore the Garden Tombs of Delhi
A tour to visit 3 of Delhi’s most spectacular garden tombs. They were set up hundreds of years ago for the rulers of Delhi to be buried in and are surrounded by beautiful landscapes.
Medieval rulers in Delhi built beautiful garden tombs for their dead and so the city is full of these tombs. This tour takes you to experience 3 of the most interesting of them. You will be driven first to Safdarjung Tomb, built out of sandstone and marble in 1754. Safdarjung is incredibly spacious and has an imposing presence with domed red and white structures. You will then visit Humayun’s Tomb, which is a spectacular Mughal building built in 1565 and set in its own square garden. This beautiful red sandstone and marble structure slightly resembles the Taj Mahal. The tour ends with a visit to Lodi Gardens. It is spread over 90 acres and contains a huge amount of tombs belonging to Lodi rulers over the 15th and 16th centuries.
