Eravikulam National Park and Tea Museum
Explore Tea region of Munnar, the tea museum and the nearby Eravikulam National Park.
Munnar stands 1600 meters above sea level and is covered in green forest. It has an annual rainfall of more than 200cm which means that it is an excellent place to cultivate tea, cardamom and coffee. You will have plenty of time to explore the lush greenery of the tea gardens which spread for miles and miles over rolling hills. For nature lovers, walking through these cool and refreshing estates listening to birds, squirrels and the occasional monkey is a breathtaking experience. Whilst in this area you can visit Eravikulam National Park (which remains closed in February and March for the calving season). This park was created to protect the Nilgiri Tahr, which is a rare mountain goat. You can also visit the Tea Museum, which houses photographs and machinery, all of which have a story to tell about the history of tea plantations in Munnar.
