Darjeeling walking tour
An extensive walking tour of Darjeeling, where you will see a huge number of things, from the Mahakal Dara to Royal Bengal tigers! You will enjoy breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea in local areas.
This tour starts before breakfast. You will visit one of the city’s most revered sites, the Mahakal Dara, which sits on top of the Observatory Hill. Thousands of Buddhists and Hindus flock here every day. After visiting the Gymkhana Club and St. Andrew’s Church you will walk around Mall Road and have breakfast at Keventer’s - an iconic all day breakfast joint. The walk continues through Chowrasta to see the Bhotia Busty Gompa, a shrine that houses the Tibetan Book of the Dead. On Love Road you will visit the Tibetan Refugee Self Help Centre. After lunch you will make your way to Padmaja Naidu Zoological Park, which conserves the snow leopard and red panda. Here you may also see the Royal Bengal tiger and Himalayan black bear. After visiting the Himalayan Museum you will enjoy tea and confectionary at Glenary’s.
