Cerro Mesa & Kayaking at Garrapatero
Spend the day hiking through the Cerro Mesa reserve for amazing views over the south of Santa Cruz before kayaking off of El Garrapataro beach.
In the morning you will be taken to Cerro Mesa Reserve, home to many endemic species such Galapagos Tortoises and wood-pecker finches. You will start by heading to a viewpoint for a stunning view of the southern shore of Santa Cruz. You’ll then begin an approximately 30-minute downhill hike into the collapsed crater, spotting amazing species along the way. After regaining your energy and exploring the old crater, you will start the return hike to the top, lasting approximately 45 minutes to one hour.
After lunch, you will make your way along flat and easy terrain through a deciduous forest to Garrapatero beach where you can head out onto the water in kayaks to be amongst the stunning marine life.
