Bedugul and Tanah Lot Tour
Discover the spiritual heart of Bali with a visit to the iconic 17th century Ulun Danu Temple on Lake Beratan and see the macaque monkeys on a forest walk, before ending the day watching the sunset against the dramatic backdrop of Tanah Lot Temple.
Don’t forget your camera on this day trip, with plenty of opportunities to shoot the temples, forest monkeys and sunset. The day starts with a scenic drive through Bali’s highlands, passing the three caldera lakes, Beratan, Buyan and Tamblingan, before a visit to Ulun Danu Temple, built on protruding rock over Lake Beratan, which can often look as if it’s floating on the water. Then head to Asah Gobleg for fine views of Lake Buyan and Tamblingan, before a visit to Alas Kedaton Monkey Forest, to see the hundreds of macaque monkeys who live there. The highlight of the tour is a sunset trip to the spectacular location of Tanah Lot Temple located on top of a rocky outcrop and only accessible at low tide. There can be few better places to watch the sun slip below the horizon.
Please be aware that macaque monkeys can be annoying, so always heed the precautionary advice of your guide.
