A Day in the Rosario Islands
Located in the clear waters of the Caribbean, the coastal lagoons, mangroves and tropical forest of the Rosario and San Bernardo National Park teem with wildlife. Discover these rich ecosystems by boat from Cartagena and snorkel in the turquoise waters.
Just a 45-minute boat ride from Cartagena, the Rosario and San Bernardo National Park lies in the Archipiélago del Rosario and boasts three ecosystems of coastal lagoons rich in coral reef, lush mangroves and tropical forest. As you speed across the bright blue waters you’ll pass deserted islands, and pristine wildernesses before arriving on the sands of one of the islands of the archipelago.
Spread across 120,000 hectares, the park’s 23 coral islands can be explored as you snorkel from the beach through a colourful rainbow of fish before enjoying a beach lunch and chance to relax on the sugar-fine sands. You’ll return to Cartagena by boat in the afternoon and the whole experience is likely to last around seven hours.
